David Hews
Born into a newspaper family in Canterbury and brought up there, I was educated at the Kings School and Junior Kings School before going into the Royal Navy and Dartmouth Royal Naval College. I served on ships based at Chatham and Portsmouth.
After a 10-year commission, I trained for the newspaper industry with the Middlesex County Press at Uxbridge before joining the Kent Messenger Group of companies as a General Manager of one of their papers. My latter years were spent working in the financial services industry.
Having taken early retirement, I am now standing as an MEP for the Christian Party Christian Peoples Alliance in the South East sector for the EU elections on 4th June. The Christian Party Christian Peoples Alliance stands for putting Honesty, Integrity and Christian values into the European Parliament.
For the last 6 years, I have working closely with Prayer for the Nations and Prayer for Parliament and feel that it is becoming more and more important to get involved with the Government, as we all just assume that they are doing what is best for us. We have recently all been proven wrong and its time to get out and do more about it. If we now see what is going on at Westminster, what on earth is happening in the European Parliament?
